It has been a while

Not that anyone reads my blog, but for yourself Becky. You never stick to anything you start. How pathetic are you? Great and now you are writing to yourself, nice. I fail so completely at life, I am literallty rubbish at everything I do, I am not smart or creative or logical or pretty or even street smart. I want to be an actress but really that is just ridiculous, i mean for one i am not that good and for another i am not attractive enough or skinny enough or anything enough. I am going to live in London in January where i probably won't find a job and i won't pass my audition for drama school and i will fail completely and will have to come back to ecuador and live with my parents and get marrried and have kids and then fill my meaningless life with sordid affairs and pointless sex until i hurt everyone in my life and drive them away and will end my days living with my dog and eventually i will just cease to exist and that will be it. OH HOLY FCK. I can't bear to think that my life will turn into that but if things don't start working out for me somehow then i don't know what i am going to do. Everything lies on this one chance i have to make things work, i need them to work. I am not a person who prays generally but i feel like i have to, there has to be something bigger than this and better than this, this can not be it.

So I have spent the majority of my day watching the community channel on youtube, which honestly shows my laziness and lack of things to do. And I have to say, it was highly enjoyable. Natalie Tran is so freaking funny that I laugh out loud and I just don't do that a lot. She says a lot of things that are just so relevant to the majority of us and that we just don't think about like ever. If you are ever short of something to do and want a good laugh i recommend you check it out!

I'm too tired to play pretend

Very tired. Had a long day with meetings, handing out CVs and walking around in really uncomfortable shoes. However if i was wearing a pair Seychelles wedges I don't think I would have minded so much, they are so cute and i absolutely love their style of shoes and the materials that they use are also really quite nice. I don't own a pair but I have worn some and they wear so fun to wear and actually really comfortable despite the high high heels! They are definitely on my wishlist when I have some money to spend!

Ugh

So annoyed!!! My mum and I decided this morning to go to the cinema cause we haven't been out together in a long time, so we chose a time and then made our plans around it. The movie was at 6:10 and we left the house at 5 to be there early to get the tickets. But when we got there it was bloody sold out!! I mean it wasn't like transformers or anything, it was just Duplicity, but nooo everyone had decided to see that movie today! Argh I was so bummed out cause I had been looking forward to it all day. I mean I love going to the cinema; the smell of the fast food, the whispers of the people, the anonimity of being in the dark, it is just awesome. Oh well I guess I will have to see it another time :(

On the plus side I left my CV at five shops in the mall so hopefully I will get a response from one of them as I really want to work and I need the dinero!

I guess I will go and help cook dinner or maybe tidy my room... or maybe not.

Our stories can set us free

I decided that I must write about these books (or book) as I think they are absolutely gorgeous. I bought the first book Weetzie Bat when I was 15ish I think and I thought it was amazing, I wanted to be weetzie and live in a cottage and have adventures in the city of angels that was falling apart at the seams.
There are five books in series and each one is beautiful in its own way, Francesca Lia Block has this amazing talent for weaving these stories into something that is special to read. The mix of reality and fantasy is done in such a way that the fantastical like something very possible. Don't get me wrong, this is not a book about fairies and wizards but rather a look at how magic can be found in or lives.

this could be a book about cheap cheese and bean burritos, slinkster dogs, lanky lizards and rubber chicken...
or strawberry sundaes with marshmallow toppings, surfing, stage-diving and sleeping on the beach...
it could be even be a book about magic.

Dangerous angel refers to the mot dangerous and beautiful thing we will ever experience... true love.

I would recommend this book in a heartbeat.

Vengeance is mine; I will repay

On friday i went to this little second hand english bookstore in the zona to try and find something to satisfy my literar needs, which over the past year have become rather desperate (I have resorted to pinching books from libraries) So anyway, I went in and there were so many books, but the majority were those crappy books that you take on holiday to read when there is nothing better to do. I was beginning to feel a bit disheartened when I stumbled upon a row of 'classic' books and to my absolute delight I found a total gem... Anna Karenina for $10! I have been meaning to read this book for a long time but obviously here the english literature is rather limited and haven't had the chance. I am so pleased its ridiculous, I went home on the bus carrying bag feeling like the cat who got the cream and worrying someone would steal my beautiful book, although thats just silly because why would they steal a book in english that is gigantic?

I have so far read a few chapters and I am really enjoying it, I love the way Tolstoy writes, it is so direct and personal. I know it is translated but I am trusting that the translators have done a good job. Oh the cover is so pretty it makes me want to read it even more.

Decision

I have decided to write a blog because I honestly have too much time on my hands right now. The funny thing is no one is likely to read it, but sometimes you just have to do something for yourself. So here it goes I guess...
